Spring is coming soon and Harrisville City would like to remind residents about the Spring Clean-Up Days that will be held on April 20-24. According to the City newsletter, “Specific waste containers for regular garbage debris and green waste will be available at the Harrisville Main Park, 1350 N. Highway 89, during the Spring Clean Up for disposal.” Along with the clean-up days, trees and branches or other vegetation that obstructs any sidewalks, waterways, etc. should be trimmed or removed.”
Baseball and softball signups for grades K-9 run from March 1 to March 31. There is also a rabies clinic happening March 7 and April 4 at the Weber County Animal Shelter located at 1373 North 750 West between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The cost of rabies shot is $15.00. Dog licenses are also available as well as the option of micro- chipping.
A municipal election will be held for three City Council seats. Anyone interested in running will need to file a “Declaration of Candidacy” in person at the City offices located at 363West Independence Blvd. during office hours between June 1 and June 8. Candidate packets are available at the City Records office or online at www.cityofharrisville.com. City Hall is undergoing construction right now in order to become ADA (Americans with Disabilities) compliant with the entry way and restrooms.
