(Washington, DC, October 3, 2017) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue praised the Senate’s confirmation of two key nominees for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Senate confirmed Steve Censky, nominated by President Donald J. Trump as Deputy Secretary, and Ted McKinney, selected by the president to be Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs.
Perdue issued the following statement:
“I commend the Senate for confirming these two experienced, prepared, and capable nominees, who will provide the steady leadership we need at USDA. Steve Censky will help us be responsive to producers reeling from the effects of multiple hurricanes and also offer prudent counsel as Congress continues work on the 2018 Farm Bill. Ted McKinney will take charge of the newly-created mission area focused on trade, and wake up every morning seeking to sell more American agricultural products in foreign markets. We eagerly await their arrival at USDA, and urge the Senate to continue to act on other nominees who are awaiting confirmation.”

October 4, 2017 - Veil of Maya has released a music video for "Doublespeak" - the second single off of their upcoming record False Idol due out October 20, 2017 via Sumerian Records. Fans can watch the video directed by Erez Bader (The Dear Hunter, The Contortionist) HERE. The track premiered on Monday on BBC Radio 1 with Daniel Carter, and is available everywhere for download now.
Guitarist, Marc Okubo shares, "'Doublespeak' is the second track we're releasing from False Idol. This song is the product of the first time Max Schad (producer) and I met and started writing together. We knew there was something magical about that, and that's when we decided to pursue creating the rest of the album together."
Veil of Maya is currently on the road supporting The Devil Wears Prada, alongside Silent Planet and Thousand Below, hitting a total of 31 cities across the US and Canada, wrapping up on November 4 in their hometown of Chicago, IL. Tickets are now on sale through various retailers.
False Idol, the band's highly anticipated new album, set to release later this month, is said to be their heaviest, most hypnotic, and hardest record yet. Veil of Maya released their first single off of the record, entitled "Overthrow" earlier this month. Check out the video HERE.

Releases New Shirt
To Support Grief Counseling in Las Vegas
Melbourne, FL - October 3, 2017 - To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) has released a brand new shirt design to help fund trauma and grief counseling sessions for those affected by the recent tragedy at Las Vegas' Route 91 Harvest Festival on Sunday. For every shirt sold, $8 will go towards providing counseling for those who need it. In addition, TWLOHA has set up a fundraising page for anyone wishing to donate directly. On the recent events, TWLOHA founder Jamie Tworkowski has shared: "All of us are trying to process what happened in Las Vegas. As we mourn with those who mourn, we also wanted to create a way to help. We know there will be an ongoing need for counseling in the days and weeks ahead, and we're honored to invite people to help meet that need."
To Write Love on Her Arms is a nonprofit dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. It exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery. Since its start in 2006, TWLOHA has donated over $1.8 million directly into treatment and recovery and answered over 200,000 messages from over 100 countries.
This past September TWLOHA wrapped its 6th annual campaign to honor National Suicide Prevention Week and World Suicide Prevention Day. The organization was overwhelmed by the amount of love and support shown during this year's campaign, titled, "Stay. Find what you are made for,"during which over $103.5K was raised for treatment and counseling.
