Statement on HB454, Prison Development Amendments bill
SALT LAKE CITY (March 4, 2015) – Marty Carpenter, spokesman for Gov. Gary R. Herbert, issued the following statement regarding HB454, Prison Development Amendments:
“The governor received the draft bill today and is in the process of reviewing it. Given the magnitude of this decision, the governor believes both the executive and legislative branches should play a role in determining where the new prison will be constructed.”
