SUPERINTENDENT BRAD SMITH SELECTED AS A FINALIST
FOR UTAH STATE SUPERINTENDENT
Ogden, Utah – October 10, 2014 – The Ogden School District is pleased to confirm Superintendent Brad Smith has been named today by the Utah State Board of Education as one of the four finalists for the position of State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Smith was appointed Superintendent of the Ogden School District in September of 2011 and has been instrumental in implementing school turn around initiatives throughout the district.
“Without Brad’s leadership, our district today would not have in place the systems that are allowing us to improve educational outcomes for our students,” said Sandy Coroles, Assistant Superintendent. “Brad’s vision is focused on the fundamentals of education including using data-driven instruction to understand each students needs, creating a student culture that supports learning, and using observation and feedback to help teachers deliver the highest quality of instruction. He is also deeply and personally committed to the belief that every student regardless of background or circumstance can learn and succeed in life.”
The Ogden School District joins in congratulating Superintendent Smith as a finalist for State Superintendent in recognition of his leadership abilities and the progress made in our district. The district supports him fully as he continues the application process.
