Harrisville City Update

Tami L. Johnson

This Four-mile Creek project is something to be excited about!  It will create a better outdoor opportunity for our youth and the residents of Harrisville.  We hope the residents of this great city will take advantage of this awesome new water habitat that literally exits in our own “backyard.”

If you’re interested in learning more about this project, and would also like to see the site plan of the new pond, please visit Harrisville City webpage at www.cityofharrisville.com under the Parks and Recreation tab.  Fishing season is nearly underway!

Also, if you haven’t already noticed there is a new addition to the Harrisville Park: Swings! These swings are located in the southwest end of the park right near the tennis courts and were partially paid for by  R.A.M.P.  There is also a handicap swing so all children can enjoy.

Don’t forget about the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15th at 9:00 a.m., located at the Harrisville Main Park (1350 N. Hwy 89, Harrisville), for ages 0-3, 4-7, 8-11.   The Easter Egg Bunny will be there as well as live bunnies to hold and pet.

A word from Mayor Richins: “Imagine how much more enjoyment we would have if we always looked for the best in others.  How much better we would feel about family members, friends, neighbors, colleagues and people in the workplace, at school and on the street if we always looked for the best in them…I would hope that we especially look for the good regarding our neighbors. If we see a need somewhere in the community, please make a suggestion, or better yet become part of the solution.”
