Historical fiction shares story of aviators’ espionage work during 1939

Robert Barr announces marketing campaign for ‘Flight of The Red Dog’

BOISE, Idaho – Based on his real-life experiences, “Flight of The Red Dog” (published by LifeRich Publishing) contains the fictionalized account of author Robert Barr’s flight missions from the military. Barr is embarking on a marketing campaign to expand the reach of his book.

Two experienced civilian pilots – Earl Parker and Denny Speth – are commissioned by the U.S. and British agencies just before World War II to collect valuable intelligence for the Allies. The aviators make reconnaissance flights in civilian aircrafts from Europe, the South Pacific, India, the Middle East, middle Europe and return to the U.S. Adventure and danger are in all areas, with the Axis powers seeking oil, minerals and rubber for war-making materials. Receiving help from many different people along the way the crew must complete their missions and dodge the prying eyes of Axis sympathizers.

“Civilization must learn from the past so as to not repeat mistakes,” Barr says. “Yet, from the times of the book, 1939, societies have made similar mistakes. Currently, the US has problems in the Middle East due, in part, to bad or insufficient espionage.”

Join the Arbor Day Foundation in July and 10 Trees Will Be Planted in High-Need National Forests

Forests across America are a prized natural resource, and anyone can help plant trees in these vital areas by joining the Arbor Day Foundation this month.

Through the Replanting Our National Forests campaign, the Arbor Day Foundation will honor each new member who joins in July by planting 10 trees in forests that have been devastated by wildfires, insects, and disease.

The cost for joining the Arbor Day Foundation is a $10 donation.

America’s national forests face enormous challenges, including unprecedented wildfires that have left a backlog of more than 1 million acres in need of replanting. The Foundation has worked with the United States Forest Service for more than 25 years to plant trees in high-need forests.

Our national forests provide habitat for wildlife, keep the air clean, and help ensure safe drinking water for more than 180 million Americans.

“Keeping our forests healthy is vital to the health of people and the entire planet,” said Matt Harris, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation. “By planting trees in our national forests, we will preserve precious natural resources and the benefits they provide for generations to come.”

To join the Arbor Day Foundation and help plant trees in our national forests, send a $10 membership contribution to Replanting Our National Forests, Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410 or visit arborday.org/july.

Layton Hills Mall is now accepting applications for the 3rd Annual KIDZ BIZ!

Looking for Youth Entrepreneurs

Layton, UT (July 6, 2017) Layton Hills Mall is now accepting applications for youth participants and business sponsorships for the 3rd Annual KIDZ BIZ event. KIDZ BIZ is a program to encourage young people between the ages of 6 and 17 to learn about business practices, sales, and financial responsibility and to have fun while running their own company for one day in the Layton Hills Mall. In addition, prizes are awarded for various categories and participants keep all the money they earn to invest back into their business venture.

The KIDZ BIZ market day will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 12p to 5p in center court. This is the perfect time for children to test out their concepts, sales skills and see if their business model will work.  The event will conclude with an awards ceremony at 5:30pm. There will also be training orientations held prior to the event to assist participants with advice and mentoring.

“The best part is that the kids get to be the creative entrepreneurs,” says Danielle Bendinelli, Layton Hills Mall Marketing Director “they can manufacture something, offer a service, or sell a product!  There are a few restrictions, but we are definitely looking for a wide variety of concepts, and KIDZ BIZ businesses must have minimal to no parental involvement.”

How can Kids be involved? First, they must have a business idea, then complete a Kidz Biz Application form and return it to Layton Hills Mall no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, July 31st. Consultations will be conducted via telephone prior to the orientation to assist in creating business models for the 2017 event. Due to space restrictions, participants are limited.  For an application or more information visit the Kidz Biz event page at www.shoplaytonhills.com/connect.
