BOMA Keeps Utah’s Commercial Real Estate from Overuse of Power

Salt Lake City, UT- BOMA Utah hosted a panel of energy conservation experts from Rocky Mountain Power, Questar Gas, and Utah Clean Energy at the April Luncheon. The panel consisted of:

Kevin Emerson - Senior Policy & Regulatory Associate, Utah Clean Energy:  Kevin is the lead for energy efficiency programs, policies and regulatory activities for Utah Clean Energy. He spoke about the UCAIR and Property Assess Clean Energy or (P.A.C.E.) programs, which help Utah business become conscious of their environmentally footprint and helps them minimize that footprint. Zach Brown - Marketing Representative, Questar, who currently assists in developing and managing the ThermWise program. Chris Helmers - Manager of the Wattsmart Business Program at Rocky Mountain Power. The main points touched on by all of the speakers was to urge people to be proactive about their energy consumption; to learn about and seek ways to cut their emissions; lower their costs as well as help protect the environment and to clean up Utah’s air. A main goal was to look for areas in your life that you can do better in, commit to do the simple things such as turning of equipment and lights when they aren’t being used, and upgrade to longer lasting and environmentally friendly options.
