OUR PTA WANTED THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE TO BE SENT OUT
It is that time of year we are looking to fill the PTA board for next year. Stephanie Billings will be the PTA president. She is so great to work with and will do a wonderful job. She will need lots of help and volunteers to make the next year successful.
We have simplified things this year making it easier for everyone who volunteered. We truly understand that everyone has their hands full. As parents we can each give a little bit of time but it's hard to commit to a position where we might feel overwhelmed. I know I felt this way coming in as the president of the PTA, and the other board members felt similar feelings. We could see that something needed to change. We wanted the teachers, staff, principal, and children to feel loved and supported which is the whole point of the PTA, making our children's school experience even greater! Like you, families are our #1 priority, and we wanted balance in our lives. What was the balance? You!! So many of you stepped up to the plate that we were able to spread the work throughout all the parents. THANK YOU!!! You made it possible for everyone to see that being on the board can be s positive experience, one that anyone can do, and that is what we want to implement next year as well.
I knew nothing about the PTA coming into this but I was surrounded by so many amazing board members and parents who taught me and we learned together. That is why I feel confident in saying anyone of you can do this, because you won't be alone. We are all different and we all have different talents and those talents complement each other. Let us know what your talents are and we will put it to good use. We would love to hear from you. If you are considering volunteering but just still not sure it will work for you, give us a call and we can find a spot that will work. Let us know what ways you would like to serve. We have several board positions available as well as many other opportunities.
We are still looking for a few more volunteers for teacher appreciation and several more for field day for this year. Thanks for all you do.
