Gov. Herbert to launch Envision Utah’s “Your Future Your Utah” statewide effort to help plan for 2050
What: Gov. Gary R. Herbert will launch Envision Utah’s “Your Utah
Your Future” campaign, the first statewide effort in the country to
actively gather citizen feedback on eleven key areas affected by the
anticipated growth of the state. Visuals will include statewide growth
models and Envision Utah’s “Build Your Utah 2050” interactive survey.

Why: Utah’s population will almost double by 2050, with a projected 2.5 million new residents. Most of them will be our children and grandchildren. The “Your Future Your Utah” is a unique opportunity for citizens to direct the growth of their state. Envision Utah’s efforts in the late 1990s laid the groundwork for the direction the Wasatch area has headed over the last fifteen years, and the “Your Utah Your Future” project will do the same for the entire state for the coming decades.
