Governor to host Colorado Governor, industry leaders at

Energy Development Summit, May 20-21

Kick-off session, trade show and reception on May 20 with full-day summit on May 21

Who: Gov. Gary R. Herbert; Gov. John Hickenlooper, Colorado; Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox; Greg Goff, CEO of Tesoro; Jack Gerard, CEO of the American Petroleum Institute; Jonathan Weisgall, VP of Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, Berkshire Hathaway Energy; and many other industry leaders, NGO’s, government officials and other stakeholder groups interested in Utah’s energy future.  

 

What: The Governor’s Utah Energy Development Summit will include keynote remarks from the listed above, as well as 12 Breakout Sessions with more than 85 expert speakers from around the region and around the world.  Throughout the day attendees may visit both a Tradeshow Area and an Exhibit Area, and the day’s agenda will finish with a closing reception from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

 

Where: The Salt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah

 

When: May 21, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  (May 20 events will occur at the Salt Palace from 3:00-6:00 p.m., however media is encouraged to attend the morning of May 21.)

 

Visuals: The Tradeshow and Exhibit Areas will feature more than 100 booths and interactive energy displays, including alternative fuel vehicles, renewable energy generation technologies, oil- and gas-well servicing equipment, etc.  Additionally, Gov. Gary R. Herbert will be at the podium during the 8:00-9:00 a.m. Breakfast Plenary, and again at 9:15 for a National Energy Issues Panel with Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and Jack Gerard, CEO of the American Petroleum Institute.

 

Media availability: Governors Herbert and Hickenlooper will be available to the media in a designated media room (Room 155D) immediately following the National Energy Issues Panel, from 10:25-10:45 a.m. on May 21.  Media must show credentials at the check-in table in order to participate in this informal press conference.
