Kokanee egg-taking at Strawberry Reservoir
What: Thousands of bright red kokanee salmon are beginning to spawn at Strawberry Reservoir. Members of the media are invited to take a close look at these colorful fish in mid-September, the week before Kokanee Salmon Day. DWR biologists will be collecting eggs from the salmon and explaining more about the unique role of these fish in the reservoir. Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend, interview biologists and obtain footage of the spawning fish.
