Governor to tour Utah State University special education programs
What: Gov. Gary R. Herbert will tour two innovative programs within the Utah State University Special Education department: ASSERT and Aggies Elevated. These programs respectively serve preschoolers with autism, and young adults with disabilities in a college setting.

1. ASSERT (Autism Support Services) works to build the capacity of Utah schools to provide effective, research-based educational services to children with autism.
2. Aggies Elevated works with students with disabilities, aiming to find gainful employment leading to a meaningful career path. Aggies Elevated is the first college-based program in Utah for 18-to-26-year-old young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
