The North vs South Adult Co-ed softball tournament started on July 3rd—a four-team, single elimination followed up with a championship game on the 4th.

The skydivers will be in the air with colorful parachutes at around 9 p.m. followed by the excellent fireworks that are set to start at 10 p.m. and will be synchronized to music under the direction of DJ Cindy Sue and Lantis Fireworks Productions.

In the few last week’s there has been a number of business licenses up for approval: Auction 2 You, Winco Fireworks Utah LLC, and solicitors’ business license for Kristin’s Books & Kristin Paas. There has been much discussion for the approval of Remuda Court subdivision by Cody Rhees, WISCO site plan extension by Cory Wilkes, and Northern Utah Leasing by Parker Venable.

The City also was approached by Landon Roylance for an Eagle Scout Project relating to the mow strip that is all weeds by Farr West Elementary. As part of the project, they would clean the area and put in decorative gravel. But there was a problem, as this would cost about $1200 plus dollars. They need to see if the City would help pay for the gravel and Landon would do the work and his troop would help along with other adults. He told the council that he had witnessed a number of young kids with stickers in their tires. This would help the kids and make the area, which is a main road, look much better. With the new Walquist Jr. High opening down the road, this would also help with more than one school. The board approved this action. The City Council is faced with budget concerns and are working them out to stay within the budgets they have hoping not to raise taxes.
