UTAH SENATE REQUESTS PUBLIC COMMENT ON JUDICIAL NOMINEE
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee seeks public comment on Kara Pettit who was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Third District Court bench.
Those who desire to comment should contact Mike Christensen at the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, Utah State Capitol, House Building, Suite W210, PO Box 145210, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-5210, by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 3rd, 2014. All statements should include the respondent's name, telephone number, and mailing address.
The Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee will hold a public hearing on October 8th, and issue a recommendation to the full senate, prior to a final confirmation vote, likely to take place on October 15th.
If confirmed, Ms. Pettit will fill the vacancy that will be created by Judge Terry Christiansen’s retirement on October 1, 2014.
The Third District Court includes Salt Lake, Tooele, and Summit counties.
