NEW MOVIE, FILMED IN UTAH:   “NOWHERE SAFE”

TO RELEASE ON DVD NOVEMBER 4

LOGAN, UTAH:   NOWHERE SAFE, starring Natasha Henstridge, Jamie Kennedy and Danielle Chuchran, will release on DVD on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.   NOWHERE SAFE recently premiered nationally on UPTV last month.  The entire movie was filmed in Utah at various locations, including Pleasant Grove High School, Hill Air Force Base Aerospace Museum, the Castle Amphitheater in Provo, and Flowrider in downtown Ogden.

Inspired by true events, NOWHERE SAFE follows the plight of a teenage girl who is forced to leave her school due to cyberbullying.  The movie shows the negative effects of bullying, as well as the difference one person can make by being a courageous upstander.

With the additions of the Internet and cell phones, bullying now goes from the classroom to home and beyond.  “In today’s electronically connected world, there is truly nowhere safe”, said Paul Parkinson, President of Gradual Elevate Media, and Executive Producer of NOWHERE SAFE.

Noted youth mentor and coach, Dan Johns, said, “Of all the movies made over the years with a bullying theme, NOWHERE SAFE is the most realistic, timely and inspiring.  A perfect example of what Hollywood ought to be – yes, entertaining, but also encouraging and uplifting to our nation’s young people.”  Annelie Rudlaff of Christian Film Database said, “This is one of the most powerful films I’ve ever seen”.

NOWHERE SAFE is a film for the entire family.  The Dove Foundation (www.dove.org) gave NOWHERE SAFE its highest marks – 5 out of 5 Doves, as well as the “Family Friendly” seal.  The Christian Film Database gave NOWHERE SAFE its “Highest Recommendation”, the highest endorsement offered by the film reviewer.

One reviewer described NOWHERE SAFE as “A Walk to Remember meets Dead Poet’s Society.”  Ironically, comedian Jamie Kennedy, who plays the high school history teacher in NOWHERE SAFE, had his first role in a film 25 years ago when he was a classroom extra in Dead Poet’s Society, watching perhaps the greatest teacher of our time – John Keating, played by Robin Williams.

NOWHERE SAFE was directed by Brian Brough (Scents and Sensibility, Christmas Angel), and written by Brittany Wiscombe (Scents and Sensibility, Christmas Angel).

NOWHERE SAFE will be available on Amazon.com and most major online movie retailers.  In Utah, it will be available at various retail outlets, including Deseret Book and all Coppin’s Hallmark stores along the Wasatch Front.
