HSU adds $3,000 reward to dog, cow killings
Additional reward for information leading to arrest in Iron County investigation
The Humane Society of Utah is adding a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the illegal killing of a dog and stolen cow in Iron County. HSU hopes the increased reward assists the Iron County Sheriff’s Department in obtaining information required to identify and charge whoever is responsible for these criminal acts.
Fence crew members found the butchered carcass of a stolen cow and the body of a dog that was apparently shot to death at the scene near 3300 West and 800 South in Beryl, Utah.
“We hope that by increasing the reward, someone with information will contact officials,” said Gene Baierschmidt, executive director of the Humane Society of Utah. “We would like to learn more about the circumstances surrounding this unthinkable matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
Iron County Sheriff’s Department is offering a $1,000 reward. HSU hopes the additional amount offers incentive to solve this case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Iron County Sheriff’s Office at 435-867-7500 or leave a tip on the Tip Line at 435-867-5878. Tips can also be left online at ironsheriff.net and can be texted using 274-637 with the keyword ICSOTIPS.
