Senator Hatch's Statement on Utah Justice Jill Parrish, Prior to her Senate Judiciary Committee Confirmation Vote
Washington D.C.— Senator Orrin G. Hatch, former chairman and current member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement prior to the Senate Judiciary Committee’s vote on Utah Supreme Court Justice Jill Parrish for a federal district judgeship.
"Over the course of her 30-year legal career, Justice Jill Parrish has established a record of excellence both before and behind the bench, in both state and federal court, in the private and public sectors, and in both trial and appellate courts. During the last 12 years on the Utah Supreme Court, Justice Parrish has participated in more than 900 cases that resulted in a written opinion. She is at the top of the legal profession, has outstanding legal ability, and possesses the highest reputation for integrity. I hope that her nomination is confirmed promptly."
