The City Council noted that they have been busy with the approval of new and existing business licenses over the last few months. The idea of more improvements at the Town Square raised a couple of questions during their recent meeting. Even better, some ideas were presented to help lessen the cost of upgrades. The tennis courts at the Town Square are owed by the LDS Church, so the City can’t apply for a RAMP grant. In talking with a member of the stake presidency, they like the idea of turning this area into a pickle ball court. The church has proposed that if the City would get the estimate of what it would cost in materials to convert it, and the Church would work with the youth to do the labor. The City is working with the city engineer get an estimate to convert the tennis court into a pickle ball court and an estimate to refurbish the ball diamond.
The Hidden Hollow Subdivision at 4600 W 1500 N has 5 lots that the City has now given the final approval on; contingent upon Planning Commission and City engineer recommendations being completed. The Taylor Park Subdivision Phase 1 for 25 lots has been given final approval contingent upon the City Engineer and Planning Commission recommendations being followed and completed. Cody Rhees reported that all the items are completed. There is a final approval for S-Curve Subdivision Phase 1 at 2325 N 2800 W for 23 lots, contingent upon the City Engineer and Planning Commission comments. There still needs to be approval for an easement for the drainage and the street stubbed into Barnes property. Jarod Maw reported that the Planning Commission recommended approval of Taylor Parks Subdivision and S Curve Subdivision.
The Planning Commission has given preliminary approval to Fremont Meadows. Jackson Ranch was discussed but still has some concerns. They are in the process of drafting new guidelines for side-yard requirements for fences, swimming pools and accessory buildings. They are also looking at detention basins and postal mailboxes. There have been citizens that would like to have an ordinance requiring there be have some open space within so many lots. It was related and noted that the Planning Commission is very busy right now.
The City council noted that they still need to get the park hours posted and would like to remind people that no motorized vehicles, specifically snowmobiles & 4-wheelers in the park.
They are working on a Founders Day celebration and they are working toward the July 4 celebration and that volunteers are needed for both.
