Who came to Family Night last night? SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun with all of you! Your kids are so fun and extremely talented! We saw their creativity and involvement with their art projects and even their questions during our presentation. I loved their smiles! Wednesday, the final permits went through on our building, and today our contractors will be on site, taking down the old barn piece by piece so we can reuse this wood and corrugated metal inside the building. Drive by often and watch our building grow!
APRIL Family Night: HWho did you invite last night? Missed this one? Invite a friend or neighbor to our APRIL 21st Family Night at 7pm! Spread the word! Our Kinder is filling up fast, but our older grades need more students- invite your child’s friend’s families. Now is the time to recruit your neighborhoods and families with our March 18th lottery on Monday. Now is the best time to learn more about GreenWood- share this good news with the people you want to share in building your amazing GreenWood family story! If you can help us with the kids activity tables, please come at 6:45 to help with set-up.
Many of you have been asking the important question: “When will we know if my child got in to GreenWood???” Lottery Day is March 18th! We will start oldest to youngest and give priority to founding members and siblings. We still have openings in many grades and encourage you to share your interest in GreenWood with your neighbors. **Registration Helpers: We need your help to organize our registration packets and parent intake preparing for and helping with our registration days on April 8 & 28, & May 20. **Earth Day Booth: We have a booth reserved at the Ogden Nature Center on Saturday, April 19th. Can you help us? We need 8 parents to work 2 hour shifts from 8am until 4pm. Please email jkidd@greenwoodcharter.org if you can help us.
**Phone Calls: Can you help us keep connected with our GreenWood families? 230 of
you have already signed up to enroll your families for GreenWood this Fall! We don’t see you everyday, and would like to have some groups established to keep connected and communicate announcements. If you are friendly and love to reach out to others, email me to help us.
**Yearbook: Photo savvy? Always the one remembering to take the picture of the event? We need you! …and your pictures! We would like to start our Yearbook support now to help document our planning year, our fun family events, even the construction of the building. Library: Keep bringing in those donations for books! We will have donations boxes set up at our upcoming Family Nites. SO many of you continue to support our effort! Thank-you!!! Our library will be the center of our school's support to our students! We need books, books, and more books! We will need instructional guides, maps, periodicals and other resources that will support our student research. If this is an area you are interested in helping with, please email cmbrown82@msn.com. Our goal is to have 2500 books to start our school. Clean out those closets, stop at that yard sale, ask Gramma to donate- build our GreenWood Library!!
Donations: We are in need of white boards, teachers desks, garbage cans and rugs. Please help us find storage! Our goal is to furnish as much of our school as we can with donations from the community and local businesses. Please help us find these donations and donors willing to help us. We will need teacher desks, office chairs, garbage and recycling cans, filing cabinets, student tables and chairs, lunchroom equipment and tables, office tables and furniture, shelving and cabinets. Wild Wednesday at the Ogden Nature Center: Green is the theme for the Ogden Nature Center’s St. Patrick’s Day program. Once again it’s time to get your green on and discover why so many things in nature are green. Go on a scavenger hunt around the Nature Center searching for all things green. ST. Patty’s Day! If you're waiting until March 17 to do your St. Patrick's Day celebrating in Utah, you're waiting too long! On Saturday, March 12, the Hibernian Society of Utah's traditional Salt Lake City downtown St. Patrick's Day parade winds through the Gateway from 400 West and 200 North beginning at 10 a.m. Players from Real Salt Lake serve as the honorary Grand Marshals, leading green-bedecked floats entered by a variety of political, school, and business entities (including this very publication). After the parade, enjoy the Siamsa full of Irish dance, music and food at the Gateway Grand Hall (north end of the mall) from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. The current forecast calls for a 50-degree, partly-cloudy day, perfect for the celebration.
Celtic Celebration at Peery's Egyptian Theater in Ogden. Stonecircle, Celtic Beat and Galloway Highland Pipes & Drums headline an event also taking place Saturday, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wear your kilt or family tartan, and enjoy green beer on tap; tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for children, students and seniors.
