What: Crime Victims’ Conference sponsored by the Utah Council on Victims of Crime is designed to bring together law enforcement, crime victim service providers, prosecutors and allied professionals to educate, train and network.

Who:
Jeff Benedict: Jeff the keynote speaker and a New York Times best-selling author and national expert on athletes and crime who has spent much of his career writing about violence against women, particularly as it pertains to professional and college athletes. His 12 books include, “Pros and Cons; The Criminals Who Play in the NFL,” “Out of Bounds: Inside the NBA’s Culture of Rape, Violence & Crime,” and article, “Hands Off My Sister.” (April 30, 2015)
Sean Reyes: Utah Attorney General will discuss human trafficking interventions and his experiences from Colombia. Plenary Session (May 1, 2015)
Heidi Black Miller: Daughter of Sheri Black whose life was suddenly taken on Nov. 30, 2010 in a senseless act of violence. Speaking publicly for the first time about her mother’s murder, Heidi will share her journey of disappointments and finding the strength and courage to continue on; how survival evolved to healing; and how hope created peace as she lives with struggles from the homicide of her mother.
