Cafe Rio Mexican Grill Participates During September

In the Dine Out No Kid Hungry Campaign

SALT LAKE CITY, September 4, 2015…Cafe Rio Mexican Grill partnered with No Kid Hungry® in June of this year to support the non-profit organization’s mission to end childhood hunger in America. During the month of September, Cafe Rio is again proud to support No Kid Hungry, and will donate $1.00 from every kid’s meal purchased to No Kid Hungry, up to $10,000.

Cafe Rio will also be collecting donations online and in each of their 83 restaurants for the entire month. 100% of those donations will be given to No Kid Hungry to directly help the 16 million kids in America who struggle with hunger. Cafe Rio’s goal is to give No Kid Hungry $100,000 by the end of the year, which would provide one million meals to kids.

“We are so proud of our partnership with No Kid Hungry; the work they’re doing to end childhood hunger is extremely important,” said Ben Craner, Chief Marketing Officer of Cafe Rio Mexican Grill. “Currently, one in five kids struggles with hunger and that’s unacceptable. These kids are our future, and it’s vitally important we turn that number around. We’re honored to support this cause and we also encourage our customers to get involved and do the same. Please support this effort in September and together, we can all make a difference.”

“It’s impressive to see the restaurant industry come together for our cause, and we are thrilled to have Cafe Rio, who cares deeply about giving back to their community, join us this year,” said Diana Hovey, Managing Director of Dine Out for No Kid Hungry.

Cafe Rio is one of the fastest growing quick serve restaurants in the country. Their commitment to using only the freshest ingredients started in 1997 and continues to this day. Creating healthy, made from scratch meals is paramount to their belief in providing their customers with the best food experience possible. There are not any freezers or microwaves in their locations, instead rows of fresh fruits and vegetables, along with top grade proteins. Every single item they create starts each morning in its raw form and is carefully crafted into a fresh item or meal that is offered on their menu or as one of their daily specials.

Cafe Rio was awarded the #1 Mexican Restaurant in the Nation (2014) by the coveted Sandelman & Associates’ Quick-Track® Award; and first time winner of the Nation's Restaurant News Breakout Brands 2014. The company attributes their growth and loyal customer base to their made-from-scratch meals and their hard working team members.
