When is this Madness Going To End?

4 young mustangs killed this week in BLM’s Conger/Frisco, Utah Roundup

When Ginger Kathrens was informed that 4 young mustangs were killed in the BLM’s Conger/Frisco Roundup she stated, "When is this madness going to end?" She continued, "When is the BLM going to start managing wild horses in a humane and taxpayer-friendly way? Death of 4 young mustangs is inexcusable!”.

Love Funding Secures $6.63 Million Bridge Loan to Aid Construction of a New Assisted Living Center in Ogden, Utah

Washington, DC – July 11, 2016 – Love Funding, one of the nation’s leading providers of FHA multifamily, affordable and healthcare financing, announced the closing of a $6.63 million bridge loan for the construction of a new assisted living and memory care center in Ogden, Utah.

Shadow Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care, which will offer 62 beds once construction is completed, is being developed by Giza Development of Bountiful, Utah. The bridge financing was secured by Love Funding Senior Director James Vanar of the Los Angeles office, with funding provided by Midland States Bank, the parent company of Love Funding.

Love Funding introduced the bridge loan platform in May 2015 as a means for providing interim funding support for acquisition and refinancing applications on U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) multifamily and healthcare loans. The platform was later expanded to include tax credit equity bridge loans, and conventional financing for multifamily and healthcare new construction. To date, Love Funding has financed more than $65 million in bridge loans, with another $300 million in loans in the pipeline.

In the case of Shadow Valley, conventional bridge financing enabled the development team to start construction more quickly than with a HUD-insured loan and avoid having to pay Davis Bacon prevailing wages, significantly reducing the cost of the project. Giza Development plans to wait the required three years of seasoning before taking out the debt with a permanent loan obtained through the HUD 232/223(f) loan insurance program.

“Love Funding’s bridge loan platform was an incredible asset because it got us under construction much faster than more traditional HUD financing scenarios,” said Giza Development President Michael Wright. “Most importantly, the bridge loan allowed us to get residents into our facilities quickly. And working with James and the other professionals at Love Funding and Midland States Bank couldn’t have been easier or more efficient. We knew we had a great project, but their thorough, expert review gave us even more confidence in what we were building.”

PARK CITY, UTAH (July 11, 2016) - Today, the Park City Museum celebrated the start of construction on their new Park City Education and Collections  Center with a ground breaking ceremony. This new center will preserve Park City's cherished historic collections for future generations as well as create new educational opportunities for students, residents, visitors, and museum professionals currently unavailable in Utah.

The event included speeches from the First Lady of Utah, Mrs. Jeanette Herbert and Park City Mayor Jack Thomas.

Mrs. Herbert remarked "I am excited when we have a new opportunity for children and adults to explore, grow, and expand their interest in the world around them."

Recently, lectures and presentations held at the Park City Museum have proven so popular they have exceeded capacity. The new Education and Collections Center will provide ample space for these events and new hands-on school programs and conservation workshops for Utah museum professionals.

Additionally, like many other small museums, the Park City Museum's collections that are not on display are housed off-site. With more than 50,000 artifacts, the Park City Museum holds the community's unparalleled repository of historic objects, photographs and documents which can now be housed under one roof, in close proximity to the museum and in an environment that meets the highest level of museum preservation standards.

"This is an exciting and proud moment for our organization" said Sandra Morrison, Executive Director of the Park City Museum. "It is the follow-up phase of our 2009 award-winning expansion and renovation of our permanent exhibitions on Historic Main Street. Good morning! Hope this email finds you well--we've got a video tip we think you might be interested in.

After FBI Director James Comey decided to recommend not pursuing charges against Hillary Clinton, we sent our own Cabot Phillips to D.C. to figure out exactly what young voters thought about Hillary's honesty

Nearly everyone we interviewed felt that Hillary’s carelessness with her emails made her seem untrustworthy and potentially unfit for office.

“It’s a little worrisome to put our entire country’s fate in her hands,” one millennial responded.

“She’s so shady! Especially after everything that happened yesterday. I would never trust her,” another exclaimed with disgust.

One young veteran who spoke with Campus Reform explained that military members have to complete security training similar to that which Hillary underwent every year, saying confidently, “If anyone else did it, they would be in jail by now.”

Small wonder that a new AP poll suggests Hillary is having trouble getting youth support from former Sanders supporters.

Agriculture Secretary Vilsack Proclaims August 7-13 "National Farmers Market Week"

WASHINGTON, July 11, 2016 - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today signed a proclamation declaring Aug. 7-13, 2016, as "National Farmers Market Week." This year marks the 17th annual National Farmers Market Week to honor and celebrate the important role that farmers markets play in local economies.

"Farmers markets are an important part of strong local and regional food systems that connect farmers with new customers and grow rural economies. In many areas, they are also expanding access to fresh, healthy food for people of all income levels," said Secretary Vilsack. "National Farmers Market Week recognizes the growth of these markets and their role in supporting both urban and rural communities."

Throughout the week, USDA officials will celebrate at farmers market locations across the country. On Saturday, Aug. 6, Elanor Starmer, the Administrator of USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) – which conducts research, provides technical assistance, and awards grants to support local and regional food systems – will kick off the week visiting a farmers market and wrap up the week at USDA's own farmers market in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Aug. 12.

"Farmers markets are a gathering place where you can buy locally produced food, and at the same time, get to know the farmer and story behind the food you purchase," said Administrator Starmer. "These types of markets improve earning potential for farmers and ranchers, building stronger community ties and access to local foods."

To help farmers market managers across the country promote and celebrate National Farmers Market Week, USDA is sharing online free farmers market related graphics that market managers and others can use to customize posters, emails, websites and other promotional materials. The graphics, along with a short demonstration video, can be found at: www.ams.usda.gov/resources/NFMW

Over the course of the Obama Administration, USDA has invested close to $1 billion in 40,000 local food businesses and infrastructure projects. Farmers markets provide consumers with fresh, affordable, convenient, and healthy products from local producers. With support from USDA, more farmers markets offer customers the opportunity to make purchases with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; the Women, Infants, and Children Nutrition Program; and the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Programs.

Supporting farmers markets is a part of the USDA's Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food (KYF2) Initiative, which coordinates the Department's work to develop strong local and regional food systems. USDA is committed to helping farmers, ranchers, and businesses access the growing market for local and regional foods, which was valued at $12 billion in 2014 according to industry estimates. You can also find local and regional supply chain resources on the newly-revamped KYF2 website and use the KYF2 Compass to locate USDA investments in your community.

More information on how USDA investments are connecting producers with consumers and expanding rural economic opportunities is available in Chapter IV of USDA Results on Medium
