Elections Office offers tips to ensure your ballot is counted
Today is the postmark deadline for ballots to be mailed via the United States Postal Service
SALT LAKE CITY (Nov. 7, 2016) — The Utah Elections Office is reminding voters to submit ballots to local polling locations, their county clerk’s office, or a designated drop box in their county by no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day (Nov. 8, 2016).
For voters who are mailing their ballot via the United States Postal Service, the ballot must be postmarked no later than today, Nov. 7, 2016. Voters should be aware that some rural post offices have a postmarking deadline that is earlier than the regular close of business hours.

Polls will remain open until each voter in line at 8:00 p.m. has voted, and then preliminary results will be posted to electionresults.utah.gov. Updated results will be released at 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 10, 15, 18, and 22.
Per statute, county clerks will certify final election results for all races no later than Nov. 22. The Utah State Canvassing Board will certify results at 12:00 p.m. on Nov. 28, and presidential electors will cast their ballots in the official electoral college at 12:00 p.m. on Dec. 19.
