Bike the Bear is open to all bikers, beginners to experts.  Scouts and Leaders are encouraged to use this ride to finish the Cycling Merit Badge.  Each rider must sign a liability waver and follow the rules of the road.  These will be emailed to each group/individual who signs up.  You can return this waver via email, or turn it in at check-in the night before the race.  But no-one will be able to ride without all forms signed.  All riders are required to wear a helmet and to use proper hand signals.  For safety, riders should ride in single file lines as far to the right edge of the road as safely as possible.

If you want to ride 100 miles, you need to tell the staff at registration beforehand and leave in the first wave at 7:30.  Support around the lake will end at 3:00pm

Safety

We will have over 50 volunteers to ensure safety.  These volunteers include adults at every intersection to help the riders and vehicles be aware of each other.  There will be 6 feed zones/rest areas approximately every 10 miles around the lake with snacks and drinks for all the riders.  These areas will be manned by 4-5 volunteers as well as members of the Bridger Land Amateur Radio club to assist with communications.  We will also have bicycle mechanics and tools to assist riders if needed as well as first responders at each stop for first aid if needed.

There will be road signs along the route to help make motorists aware of the cyclists on the road.
