The following statement is released by Commissioner Kerry Gibson:

Ogden, Utah (Dec. 12, 2017) – As a fifth-generation dairy farmer and lifelong resident of Weber County, I feel blessed and honored by the opportunity I’ve had to serve as a Weber County Commissioner for the past seven years.

As your Holiday shopping increases, please consider signing up for Smith's new Earn and Learn program!

 

Smith's has recently redone their Earn and Learn Donation Program so, if you were previously signed up, you will need to re-register in order for Bates to be your charity of choice.  Smith's donations are used to provide additional classroom aide support and supplies throughout the school. We previously had over 500 families registered with Smith's and we are now down to 30, so we really need your help with this.

What causes an Inversion?

Have you ever wondered...what causes inversion conditions in the Utah valleys? As high pressure builds into the area, the mid-atmosphere warms, while the valleys stay cool. This warm air acts like a lid that traps pollution from a variety of sources in the valleys. Expect inversion conditions to remain across the area through the next 7 to 10 days. We want to remind you that tomorrow, December 6, we will be holding our winter Parent Teacher Conference. It will run from 1:00-6:30. We would love to see everyone come out. This is a great opportunity to work with our teachers. We also have had a lot of lost and found items. They will be located in the main hall by the office. Any item not claimed will be distributed to local families in need.

Our outstanding volleyball team will be playing for the district championship today at 3:30 in the Fremont gymnasium. The entrance fee is $1 that can be paid in the main office at Wahlquist or at the door as you arrive. We would love to have a huge turnout. These athletes have worked so hard to get to this point and we want to show them our support.

Farr West City November Update

Please join us for our annual Holiday Lighting Celebration to kick off the holiday season on Monday, November 27, 2017.  Come and enjoy musical selections from Pioneer Elementary and Farr West Elementary. Lighting will commence at 6:00 p.m. with refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus and his elf to follow.

Mayor Dickemore awarded the Make a Difference award to Vicki Ross for her participation in the CERT program and approved the purchase of a Kubota tractor for the Smith Family Park.
