Notification came out that there will be a general election held for mayor (4 year term), two City Council seats (4 yr. terms) and one City Council seat (2 yr. term). Candidates need to file with the city recorder at the city offices (363 W. Independence Blvd, Harrisville) during normal office hours between June 1 and June 7.

Fremont High School Boys Varsity Basketball beat Weber High School 62-49

Fremont beat Weber for the second time this year behind the hot shooting from Saxton Morby and the inside domination of Zach Taylor. Cade Hadley led the Silverwolves with 10 assists and anchored the defensive effort especially in the second half. Morby finished with 19 points while Taylor added 18.

Leading by 4 59 start the 4th Fremont broke the game open to start the 4th with a quick 7-0 run and Weber never got back closer than 10. Conner Shaw led the Warriors with 17 whole Gage Johnson had 16.

Weber School District May Adjust Boundaries to Relieve Crowding

Certain schools in the Weber County area are experiencing massive growth, particularly in the western area.  Weber School District stakeholders are looking at several options for an ongoing boundary study.  Many of our schools are reaching maximum capacity and some even exceeding it.

(Feb. 2, 2017) – The American Red Cross urgently needs blood donors to make an appointment to give this winter so that patients can continue to receive lifesaving treatments.

 

Michael Harper knows how critical it is to have a readily available blood supply. “I used over 300 units of blood when I was younger after an auto accident. Blood donations helped save my life,” he said. “Now, I would like to donate as much or more than I have received.”
