(StatePoint) When you check out the latest smartphones from Apple, Google or Samsung, you’ll notice they have something in common: glass designs. Why? Glass allows for wireless charging, better connection signals, bigger display screens, and truth be told, glass feels great and looks beautiful. But these features come with a price -- durability. Compared to metal or plastic, glass cracks, shatters, scratches and can get slippery.

If you own a good pair of running shoes—or better yet, a trained hunting dog—hunting Gambel’s quail in southwestern Utah might be a fun adventure this fall.

The number of Gambel’s quail has dipped a bit this year, but decent numbers of birds should still be available when Utah’s quail hunt opens Nov. 3. You can hunt both Gambel’s and California quail until Dec. 31. (Utah is also home to a small population of scaled quail, but hunting for them is not allowed.)

The FDA has two critical missions. One is to ensure that medications approved for sale to patients are safe and effective. The other is to get treatments to patients as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, the two missions can come into conflict.

Pheasants released in new areas

More than 10,000 pheasants will be released in Utah

If you head afield for pheasants this fall, you’ll likely find fewer wild birds. The number of pheasants released by the Division of Wildlife Resources hasn’t taken a dip, though: more than 10,000 birds will be released. The 61 pheasant-release sites include a new site near Heber City and six new sites near Utah Lake.

Utah’s 2018 general pheasant hunt runs Nov. 3 – Dec. 2 on both private and public land.

1.     It’s not an emergency. Christmas is not an emergency, it happens every year. Don’t use this as an excuse to overspend and buy things you can’t afford.
