Use corn for bait

Fishing rules approved for 2019 and 2020

Salt Lake City -- Starting Jan. 1, 2019, you can use corn as bait at any fishing water in Utah. You can also keep more lake trout at Flaming Gorge Reservoir, enjoy a two-day possession limit statewide, and have a better chance at catching big channel catfish at Cutler Reservoir.

Those changes are among several fishing changes the Utah Wildlife Board—a panel of seven citizens appointed by the governor—approved on Sept. 27. The changes will remain in effect through Dec. 31, 2020.

9*27*2018 - The Two-Year Globalist War on President Trump

The most vicious elections in our history were that of Jefferson in 1800, Lincoln in 1860, Lyndon Johnson in 1964, Ronald Reagan in 1980, but none of these were more contentious than that of Donald Trump in 2016 who was opposed by both political parties.  “Never Trumpers” (mostly Republicans) did not resort to street riots but “Not my President” (mostly Democrats) did following his election in many cities throughout the land.

9*26*2018 - University Corruption

I'm thankful that increasing attention is being paid to the dire state of higher education in our country. Heather Mac Donald, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute, has just published "The Diversity Delusion." Its subtitle captures much of the book's content: "How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture." Part of the gender pandering at our universities is seen in the effort to satisfy the diversity-obsessed National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, each of which gives millions of dollars of grant money to universities.

9*25*2018 - Can America’s Power Grid Support Millions of Electric Cars?

There’s little doubt that a global technology revolution is under way. And the sweep of change over the past decade alone has been stunning. Electric cars and smart phones are proving that the world has gone high-tech. Many analysts now believe that a “deep electrification” of the U.S. economy is coming, too, thanks to electric cars, electric buses, and high-speed rail. This electrification could also transform both homes and heavy industry through advances in heat pumps and on-demand water heaters.

9*24*2018 - Trump claims he's defending U.S. companies -- but businesses disagree

This summer, President Trump imposed a 25-percent tariff on $34 billion of Chinese goods.  The move follows his June levies on steel and aluminum from Canada, Mexico, and Europe.

President Trump sincerely believes these tariffs will bolster American businesses. His administration has argued that taxing imports will create a "level playing field" for U.S. firms, which have been subjected to "Trade Abuse for many decades."

9*23*2018 - Credit Freezing and Thawing now Free for Consumers

Identity theft can happen to anyone, but consumers have a new tool to help them in their fight.  The three big credit reporting agencies, Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, are now required by law to allow consumers to “freeze” and “thaw” their credit report for free. Previously, consumers would have to pay for this service, which caused many consumers to not even consider this important option.

Parents should also review this option for their underage children, which will help protect their unused credit rating.

9*22*2018 - The Laudable Pursuit: A Community Based Response to the Opioid Crisis

Sept. 21st, 2018

"to elevate the condition of men--to lift artificial weights from all shoulders, to clear the paths of laudable pursuit for all, to afford all an unfettered start and a fair chance, in the race of life." --Abraham Lincoln

Chairman's Note: A Community Based Response to the Opioid Crisis

No state has been spared from the scourge of the opioid epidemic. In 2016 alone, 42,000 Americans died due to opioid-related overdoses– or about 115 Americans per day.

Plenty of water, better habitat

General waterfowl hunt starts Oct. 6 in Northern Hunting Zone

If you enjoy hunting ducks in Utah, you might be wondering if there will be enough water to put your duck decoys on this fall.

9*21*2018 - PBMs Are Hogging Our Drug Discounts

The Trump administration has aimed a dagger at the heart of high pharmacy bills: the go-betweens in the supply chain that have been gouging insurers, drugmakers, and consumers.

Through its blueprint to reduce drug spending—called American Patients First—the administration invited public comment on the role of pharmacy benefit managers. These are the mega-corporations that health insurers hire to administer their drug benefits.

9*20*2018 - “A Struggle for the Survival of our Nation”

Most of the following words are not our own, although Liberty Under Fire has published extensively documenting the same the past decade.  It is an address not covered by the establishment press.  See why.

“Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American People.  There is nothing the political establishment will not do, and no lie they will not tell, to hold on to their prestige and power at your expense.
