Pleasant View City Ordinances Stifle Business and Jobs

     Part of the property along Highway 89 disconnected from Pleasant View City in 2004 was enticed back into the city with the prospect that property owners would be given enough property rights to enable development. Since that time the city passed a new zoning ordinance called the TOD Zone for a 24-acre portion on that area.

"Farr West City and Pleasant View City will host a public visioning meeting on August 30th at 6 p.m. in the Pleasant View City Building to consider various alternative land use scenarios for the 2700 North corridor from approximately 2000 West to 1000 West. Property owners, business owners, realtors, and interested citizens are invited to attend this interactive meeting leading to potential policy changes in both communities concerning future land use in the corridor.

When the re-districting ended in the Legislature, newly aligned House District 29 became a straddle district – being almost evenly split between South Box-Elder and Northwest Weber Counties as far as population and geography.   The new district pits incumbent Representative Brad Galvez against incumbent Representative Lee Perry.

Mrs. Jacqueline Smith met with citizens in Pleasant View, Utah, and spoke about how she could serve as Utah's new Congressman from the 1st Congressional District.  She emphasized returning to the Constitution, and spoke of the cycle in history that we are in.  The opportunity for improvement is before us.

One of Pleasant View's businesses, Lomond View Designs, was the spot where local citizens met Mrs. Jacqueline Smith, one of two Republican Candidates for Utah's 1st Congressional Seat - presently filled by Rob Bishop. On March 13th, Mrs. Smith and several other Republican candidates for Weber County, Utah, and Federal offices spoke for about 8 minutes each and answered questions posed by the audience.
