Online 2016 Scholarship Application Now Available
NFIB teams with VISA to boost award amounts

 

OLYMPIA, Wash., Oct. 1, 2015—The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Young Entrepreneur Foundation announced today that its scholarship application for the 2016 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards is now available.

 

High school seniors who run their own business and plan to attend a two- or four-year university, college, or vocational institute during the fall of 2016 are eligible to apply.

Somebody Call an Ambulance, Willard Residents see 60% Property Tax Increase

Willard:  Citizens of Willard City are about to experience emptier pockets. As if paying 5 cents a gallon more at the pump wasn’t  enough, or the Box Elder School District raising property taxes 8 %, or the fact that Box Elder County is also going to try to raise taxes for the roads, residents of Willard will now also have to contend with an increase in property taxes from the city. It is no small increase, it will be going up a whopping 60%!!

Willard City has opted with the new state law in place, to have all three of the candidates be retained for the three advailable seats. There will NOT be an election in November.

There are three 4-year term City Council positions available.  Here are the candidates:

 

Willard Religious Happenings

Willard 5th Ward—August 11, the Cub Scouts had their pack meeting at Willard Bay for a service project of picking up trash and pulling weeds. The Cub Scout’s families were invited to come help. After they had a hot dog roast, the kids had a lot of fun when the work was done. Thanks for the great service project!

Willard Hometown News

Willard—On August 1, 2015, Willard celebrated Founder's Day, in conjunction with Fire on the Bay at the Willard Bay State Park North Marina. Willard City residents could pick up a coupon for free entrance to the fireworks. There were activities all day at the bay starting with a marathon race and Dutch oven cook- offs. There were activities for all ages. This is the first year this was at the bay and it was not attended as well as they had hoped for, but they will to try again next year by getting more information out sooner. The fireworks were great out over the Bay.
