Update on South Willard Water

South Willard Water Company

Users of South Willard Water received an insert with the December water bill that said the following:

“Dear Shareholders(s)

South Willard Water Co. has considered a proposal, that if we had majority shareholder support, we would build and operate a joint pressurized secondary irrigation system.  After further consideration SWWC is deferring to Pine View Water Conservation District who will organize a vote of Pine View shareholders. If voted in by a majority, Pine View will build and manage the system.

Mayor Settles with Landowner, but Planner Aguilar Resists By Jim Mackley

Willard landowner, Mark Mackley (Mackley), plans to build a home on property he bought in Willard, east of the old Pioneer cemetery.  In an effort to obtain service from Rocky Mountain Power on Highway 89, Mackley dug a trench along 300 North Street and Highway 89. He had obtained a UDOT permit, and had asked the City to mark the City’s utility lines.  Mackley said he incorrectly assumed that Willard City had given permission after they marked their utility lines.  When Willard City discovered the error it placed a stop work order on further construction.
