Brigham City Council Honors Firefighter and Starts New Safety Program

BRIGHAM CITY—August 21st, 2014, during the Brigham City council meeting, Good Samaritan and firefighter, Tyler Petersen, was honored for his good deeds. He generously donated his money to care for animals that were rescued from the scene of an accident. Private citizens banded together to raise $1,070 to help reimburse him.

BRIGHAM CITY/BOX ELDER COUNTY—While summer winds to a close, residents of Box Elder County enjoy the festivities of the Box Elder County Fair. It kicked off on August 19th with a rousing concert by Ty Herndon and Due West and moving on to parades, animals, rodeo and entertainment. There was something for the whole family. BE School District welcomes a new Superintendent

Box Elder County - On July 1st, 2014 Box Elder County School District will welcome a new superintendant. Ronald Tolman comes to us from Rigby, Idaho, where he has served as superintendent since 2003. He has also served in Afton, Wyoming, as superintendent; as well as having years of experience teaching elementary school and working as a principal.

Are Annexation and Freedom Compatible? Annexation and freedom issues are coming to a head in South Willard

South Willard is an un-incorporated part of Box Elder County between incorporated Willard City, Utah, and the Weber County line.  It is almost identical in population and land mass as Willard City with each area having about 1,800 residents.  A committee of about 12 residents of South Willard was commissioned about 10 years ago by Box Elder County to provide input for a South Willard part of the Box Elder County plan.  That same committee has a “residue” (annexation committee) of about 6 or 7 people that have proposed continuing the annexation of South Willard by Willard City, according to
