Willard City Council Candidate, Robert Beebe, responded to a question asking what his position was regarding the possible annexation of South Willard by Willard City by saying that, “He would be favorable to the annexation if there were favorable finances for Willard and it is a win-win situation for both communities.”
First-time Willard City Council Candidate, Josh Braegger was asked three questions. First, what is your position regarding the possible annexation of South Willard by Willard City? Mr. Braegger responded by stating that: “There are good and bad possibilities. The City needs to be careful that the City gets the tax base and that the County doesn’t get the better end of the deal. It could work out to everybody’s advantage.”

Restored and even well-preserved cars and trucks will be featured at the fifth annual Willard Round-Up Car Show to be held here Sept. 14 at 100 Center Street at Willard City Park. The show starts at 11 a.m. Judging ends by 4 p.m.
Show organizer Gary Hart said he expects 120 to 150 cars there this year. The first 50 people to enter their vehicle in this show will receive a free t-shirt and dash plaque.
South Willard Water users have an opportunity to reject or accept new bylaws and rules and regulations being put forward by the Board of Directors. A meeting of the users (members) has been scheduled for September 5th at 7:00 pm at the Willard City offices. The new bylaws (and changed articles of incorporation) have increased nearly 700% in size according to documents obtained by the Sentinel News. The original documents comprised about 5 pages whereas the new documents comprise 39 pages.
