The Three Mile Creek Gun Range closed for the season on October 1st and will reopen next spring.

The main Perry City Park restroom will be closed for the season Sept 24th for renovation. The rest of the Perry Parks restrooms will be closed for the season Oct. 15th.

BURN PERMITS Open burn will be in effect until October 31. You will need to obtain a burn permit to do so.

The City of Perry was awarded a grant in the past to build welcome signs for the north and south entrance on Highway 89.  We wish to give a warm “thank you!” to the scouts who provided a welcome sign at the South entrance of Perry years ago.  A special thank you to former councilmember Brady Lewis, former Mayor Cronin, and our HR Specialist, Shanna Johnson for making this new grant a possibility.

Last year, Brady Lewis contacted Perry resident and designer Mark Hardin, who contributed his professional talent and time.  Mark Hardin’s wonderful work will be seen throughout the city over the years as we work to display a consistent logo on letters, shirts, websites, and signage.  Through a committee of Perry citizens, advice from elected officials, and through voting at the open house for the Perry City General Plan, the signs have been chosen and carefully cut from long-lasting material.

Todd Williams, Deb Clawson, Sean Morris, Ryan Wood, K’Dee Wood, Jamie Wyatt, City Planner Bob Barnhill, council member Andrew Watkins, and planning commission member Blake Ostler all served on the committee, providing timely and professional opinions and advice.  Committee member Sean Morris was instrumental in selecting the material and cutting the material.  You may see the peach turn to a harvest orange color from time to time when the signs are displayed.  We are waiting for UDOT to give us the final permissions, which could be weeks, or months – but we will be ready!  Local welders, Dennis Hirshi and Jason Billings will help us with finishing mounting and pole touches.

Again, thank you to all who have participated and supported.  We hope these signs and logos will add to the already rich culture and identity that gives Perry such a good reputation and glow!

Three Mile Creek is having a Book Fair this week during Parent Teacher conferences. Stop by and see the great selection.

For this year the school has implemented a wonderful program of mindset. It’s all about getting the children to understand you may not be able to do something YET. Please take a few minutes and talk with your child about this program, it’s had great results in other schools.

The Pumpkin Walk and Auction is Friday October 26 at 5 pm. There will be more posted as we get closer.

Remember that there is no school next Thursday and Friday for the UEA/ Fall break.
