Are you prepared for an emergency? Emergencies can consist of the power being out for more than a couple of hours to a natural disaster, such as a severe snow storm or earthquake. Sewer Cleaning Project - One of the requirements of maintaining a sewer system is periodic cleaning and having video taken of the insides of the collection lines to watch for blockages and groundwater infiltration. Willard City has contracted with Val Kotter & Sons to have this done. They began in February. Some of the main lines run behind houses. Kindergarten Roundup - Children who will be 5 years of age BEFORE September 2, 2016, are about to start a wonderful and exciting adventure. At this time, the school is trying to locate incoming kindergarten students in the Willard/Perry communities. If you have a child who is eligible, please contact the school by calling 435-734-4934 or stop by the school located at 40 W 50 S between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. The actual school roundup for Willard School will be held on March 9, 2016, at the USU Brigham City Campus, Milton P. Miller Building 195 W 1100 South in Brigham City. More information will be sent by the school.
The Police Department has been requested to provide information regarding the use of Off-highway vehicles (OHV) on city streets. The Division of Parks and Recreation and the Willard City Police Department has provided information regarding OHV use and safety. Chief Loveland has provided portions of the Utah State Code that address OHV use. These can be found by searching in your browser for Utah Code Annotated. These sections include: Off-highway husbandry vehicles; Off-highway vehicle operator responsibilities; Operation of vehicles on highways-limits; Vehicles operated on posted public land; Vehicle equipment requirements;Rulemaking-Exceptions;3 Registration of Vehicles Application; Requirements for compliance with traffic laws; Protective headgear requirements; Supervision, safety certificate, or driver license requirements; and Operation of vehicle by persons under 16 prohibited-Exceptions for off highway vehicles and off-highway implements of husbandry.
The Police Department’s main concern is the safety of the citizens. Basically, vehicles on the roadway must be licensed, registered, insured and have a licensed driver. Drivers must also abide by all traffic laws. Officers are happy to answer any particular questions you may have.
