*This is part of our traditional General Conference Sunday breakfast. It could be used for breakfast, brunch, or dinner; it’s a pretty hearty dish! We have fruit cocktail, orange juice, and amazing homemade caramel cinnamon rolls along with it. M-m-m!
-2-4 slices of bread (depending on size and heartiness of slices- I like to use 2 slices of heavy whole wheat bread)
1 lb. sausage (I use 1/2 lb. to be healthier and I like it better with less anyway)
1 c grated cheddar cheese (or be a little generous with the cheese like I am)
6 large eggs
2 c milk
1 t dry mustard
1 t salt
dash of pepper
Tear bread into small pieces and spread in a greased 9X13 glass pan. Brown sausage and sprinkle over bread. Sprinkle cheese over the top. Mix remaing ingredients well and pour over the top.
Bake at 350* for 30-40 minutes. (It’s done when you can insert a knife in the middle and not come out with raw egg.)
Possible additions: diced tomatoes, sautéed or fresh peppers or onions, green onions or chiles, other kinds of cheese.
