Perry - The I-15/1100 South interchange reconstruction project was officially completed and opened on September 16th. The diverging diamond on/off ramp allows traffic to move more freely at what was a difficult intersection at times when traffic flows increased. The project was finished a month early at a total cost of $14 million. The new interchange is designed to give drivers no more than approximately one minute of wait time before the light cycles. Previously, southbound traffic waiting to turn eastbound on I-91 toward Sardine Canyon could find themselves waiting for several minutes while waiting for a safe chance to enter traffic.
In August, Mayor Karen Cronin released a list of facts about the Utopia/Macquarie that explains important information for citizens to know. It can be found at perrycity.org.
