Perry—The local LDS Singles Ward reserved 20 tickets for the singles to go see the new movie “16 Stones” shown at Walker Cinema on Friday, October 19th. This movie has made a huge splash with the community. The film is set in the1830’s Missouri where one young man has been forced to witness first-hand the ramifications and destruction caused by a mob attack on Latter-day Saints in Farr West. Upset by the persecution and determined to save others from such harm in the future, the young man joins with two of his friends in a quest for physical proof of the Church’s beliefs, as well as supporting evidence of their faith, in the Book of Mormon. The proof? Sixteen stones touched by the finger of the Lord as described in the Book of Mormon’s Book of Ether. Jacob Thompson said, “You know, I like comedies, dramas, and action movies. I like movies that make you go "whoa" or make you cry. I like movies that keep you on the edge of your seat or make you think. My favorites are those that teach you or inspire. But when you can go to the movie theatre and feel the spirit—that's amazing!!!” After the movie the group took their party on over to the old Perry church and had pie and played volleyball. They had a grand time.
