The abuses of power by the Oval Office in the last weeks of the current administration would cause our Founders to be shocked beyond belief if they could see what the federal government has evolved into.
DC operates largely outside the bounds of US Constitution limits. According to original intent the federal government should be tiny, with a very small budget paid for by the States (not individuals), and a very limited scope... not the out-of-control behemoth it has become!
Since the States created the federal government they remain sovereign over it.
The federal government needs to be reduced to what it was intended to be. We need to repeal both the 16th and 17th Amendments (note that Utah did not ratify either of these), giving power back to the States where it belongs, and we need term limits on members of both the US House and Senate!
Unless we take these actions we can expect to see abuses in Washington continue forever!
