Perry—Perry City has been contacted by a producer that is associated with a TV series called ‘City View.’ The producer said that a field representative had noted that Perry City would be a good city to highlight on an upcoming segment, as one of the best cities to live in. The segment would be shown several times on regional networks such as ABC, NBC, and Fox and at least once on the national Discovery Channel.
Perry City was one of ten cities being considered to be highlighted. There would be interviews with the city’s mayor, along with the City administrator, Greg Westfall.
The producer let Perry City know they had been selected from the original base group of ten cities and would be the first city from Utah to be highlighted on the series. Although the City council has decided to not move forward with this opportunity at this time due to budgetary issues, they wished to share the fact with the residents of the community that Perry has been recognized and selected at a national level as the “Perfect Place to Call Home.”
Perry City is proud to announce the establishment of a “Bring One -Take One, Free Community Library.” This was made possible due to a grant from the Deseret Industries and through a partnership with Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning.
Daughters of Utah Pioneers 3 Mile Creek Camp will be held at 1:00 pm the first Monday of every month. They will be meeting at the LDS Chapel located at 2450 South 900 West. Casual dress, great lessons, and everyone is invited.
There have been many articles over the past 6 months or so about all the problems with the Perry/Willard waste treatment and other items with the policies at the gun range being changed. Mayor Cronin and the City Council have been under fire from citizens from the area, some with ‘stand up and fight’ and others just wanting to know the other side. There was a letter posted on the City’s web page and also mailed out to the residents of Perry with their monthly billing. This letter explains the mayors’ side of the problems. Anyone who wishes to read more about this can find the entire letter at http://www.perrycity.org/, click on newsletter.
