The 225th year anniversary of the signing of the Constitution was celebrated by an interfaith celebration on Saturday Sept 22nd in North Ogden. The occasion was hailed as the First Annual Faith of Our Fathers event held at the church bowery on 1700 North.

The kick-off at 8:00 am was a 5K race/freedom run with United States flags marking the route. When the runners returned, all were gathered to the front lawn by a stirring rendition of Amazing Grace in the crisp morning air, performed by the Ben Lomond High School Bagpipers.  Raising the flag and leading the pledge of Allegiance was Boy Scout Troop 279 of the Trapper Trails Council. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1695 boomed a 21 gun salute and honored veterans in the crowd.

A moving prayer was offered by Pastor Dave Duncan of the Valley View Baptist Church. Remarks and teachings about the Constitution were made by Roger Howell a History teacher at Ben Lomond High and Snow Crest Junior High, and counselor in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cold Water Stake Presidency.  Doug Clark, a member of the Valley View Baptist congregation sang the powerful message in the Song “I’m glad to be an American”, inviting the audience to join in. Following the program everyone enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs and juice.
