First-time Willard City Council Candidate, Josh Braegger was asked three questions.  First, what is your position regarding the possible annexation of South Willard by Willard City?  Mr. Braegger responded by stating that: “There are good and bad possibilities. The City needs to be careful that the City gets the tax base and that the County doesn’t get the better end of the deal.  It could work out to everybody’s advantage.”

Question Two asked, “On October 10th, 2013, there was a resolution voted on in the Willard City Council meeting, which raised the costs for sewer service. If you had been able to vote at that time, how would you have voted?” Mr. Braegger stated, “The position Willard is in – the State was forcing them into it.  So, begrudgingly, yes, Willard didn’t have a lot of choice.  In the future, code can be changed.”

When asked if he thought Willard had overstepped its bounds in any way, he concluded, “Many felt like the City overstepped its bounds when the City put in the sewer.”  Mr. Braegger then talked about keeping people happy and the role which developers could have played in the development.
