Willard Mayoral Candidates, and challenger, Joseph Dee Curfew responded to questions posed by the Sentinel News (incumbent Kenneth Braegger did not).  The three questions and his answers were:  What is your position regarding the proposed annexation of South Willard by Willard City?  Mr. Curfew responded that it is a good idea with some research.  Specifically, he would like to know if businesses might start which would offset (residential etc.) growth?  Questions he would like answered include how and where would sewer and water lines be built and incorporated?  Mr. Curfew believes that there is some research being done that will answer these questions;

On October 10th, 2013, there was a resolution voted on in the Willard City Council meeting, which raised the costs for sewer service. If you had been able to vote at that time, how would you have voted?

Mr. Curfew said that he probably would have voted against the sewer increase as the sewer fees are already too high!

In what areas has your city overstepped its bounds if any?

Mr. Curfew said he would have to step back and cautiously say that the City has not necessarily overstepped its bounds, but in making its decisions, there hasn’t been enough public input.
