Are you feeling stressed or burned out from life? Your job? School? Come smash that stress away at the new Ogden City business, Smash It! –Where stress meets smash! Located on 2254 Washington Blvd. Smash It opened its doors on Friday, December 13th, after a couple months of renovations, from what used to be the old Clifton’s clothing store.
On the Smash It website, www.smash-itutah.com, we learn this business is “…Utah’s ONLY dedicated Rage Room! If you want to throw axes, go to an axe throwing venue, if you want to SMASH, then come to Smash-it!”
Owners and married couple, Braeden and Madison Furgeson have been working tirelessly to get their new business up and ready. After having lived in South Carolina for a couple years to be near Madison’s family, the Ferguson’s started a shaved ice company.
While traveling through the United States, going to various kinds of carnivals and fairs, their interest peeked when they saw a mobile version of a Smash It business in New York.
“Madison went in and smashed a printer and fell in love with the idea.”
Across the country these types of businesses are called ‘Rage Rooms’ or ‘Smash Rooms.’
Braeden said, “We saw how it was being ran in New York and decided that we could do it much better. So, we came back to Utah and decided to give it a go.”
The Furgeson’s business, Smash It, is meant for many different age groups and parties. For example, you can have your bachelor(ette) parties there, Birthdays, Private events, Corporate Events, Date Night and overall Stress relief!
“We are hoping to attract many different types of people. Mostly we want to be a place for people to de-stress and leave feeling refreshed and happy.”
Braeden also says, “We want to provide an atmosphere for people to let loose and do things they generally wouldn’t, without shame or any bad feelings involved. We would love to be the best date night activity around!”
Of course, you’ll need to sign a waiver which is conveniently accessible online.
After signing the waiver, come into the location where you’ll pick a box. Once you’ve picked your box you can decide what you want to smash and place it in your box. Remember, you pay based off the weight of your box. The heavier the box the more it costs.
Bring your box up to the front desk where it will be weighed. Then, all you have to do is pay for it and give a team name. From there, you’ll be taken to your assigned room with your group or, if you choose, as an individual.
After you’ve smashed that stress, broken everything you wanted to, and all the destruction is everywhere, guess what? You don’t even have to clean it up! Smash It will clean up the smash room for you!
