Explorers of the Month

The Easter Egg Hunt will be held on April 20th at 9:00 AM at the Perry Park.  If you want to participate, please bring a bag of small individually wrapped candy for each child to the City offices by Tuesday April 16th.  The Easter Bunny will be at the Easter Egg Hunt and your kids can get their picture taken with him.  They will also be able to learn the Bunny Hop!

SECONDARY WATER WILL BE TURNED ON BY APRIL 15TH - Water will be turned on this year around the 15th. Please be patient if Pine View needs to fix broken lines.  Please remember to conserve water. DO NOT water during daylight hours. It is illegal to have cross connections with culinary and secondary water.

Citizen Patrol Volunteers Needed - The Perry City Police Department is committed to using volunteers to enhance the delivery of police service to the citizens of our fine city. Perry PD is seeking volunteers, who are dedicated and passionate about public safety in Perry City.  The Perry City Police Department is proactively engaged in reducing crime in our neighborhoods and business districts. The Citizen Patrol program was created to bring the citizens and police officers together, to reduce and prevent crime.  The Citizen Patrol program is designed to provide opportunities to form patrol groups and to watch over our community. Volunteers are additional eyes and ears for the police department. Together with our Citizen Patrol Volunteers, we will continue improving the safety of our fine city.

PERRY CITY’S GARAGE SALE SATURDAY MAY 18th - All Perry City residents are invited to participate in the 12th Annual Garage Sale.  All you have to do to participate is to have a garage sale on Saturday, May 18th. You should be ready to sell at 8 AM and stay open until 12 noon. A map will be printed showing the streets of Perry and where the garage sales will be. The maps will be available at the Maverick Convenience Store beginning on Friday morning (17th). To have your garage sale listed on the map, or for more info, contact Tom or Terry Peterson at 435-723-3987. We need to have your listing on or before May 16th.

PERRY C.E.R.T.  “SHAKE OUT” APRIL 18TH.  The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills.  One of the public services that Perry City CERT is coordinating this year is another “Shake Out” emergency simulation exercise.  All residents, businesses, and schools in Perry are thus encouraged to participate in a simulated earthquake, which will take place at 10:15 AM on Thursday April 18th.

You can participate in three ways on this day:

 1. Turn on your local radio or TV   station for emergency news.

 2. At 10:15 AM, “Drop, Cover, and Hold on” in your home or office, as instructed on “Shake Out” websites.

3. After 10:15 AM (or before you leave for work, but before 12 Noon), put your “green card” or other “colored card” in your front door or window (so that anyone in front of your house can see it) as we have done in recent years. These cards have been distributed as part of “Rapid Assessment Packets” in recent years. CERT members will canvas their neighborhoods and take a count of the colored assessment cards they see displayed in windows of each house they see.  At 6:30 p.m. CERT members will then radio to CERT IC what cards they have found.  We encourage all Perry residents to participate.  If you do not have these colored cards (red, yellow, or green) please pick them up at Perry City Offices, or you may put up your own colored paper.

BURN PERMITS - Before you burn your spring trimmings, you must first obtain a burn permit. There is no cost. Permits are issued by Brigham City and can be obtained by going online thru Perry City’s web page Under Frequently    requested, there is a link for open burning permits. Permits will be available on days with good air quality, and fires must be put out by dark. Open burn goes from March 1st to May 31st.

The Gun Range will be opening May 4th at 9:00 a.m.  They may possibly have some weekends in April that they will be open as well.  Please check the website at www.perrycity.org and click on the Gun Range icon for the most up to date information.

Green Waste Update - Perry City will no longer be operating a Green Waste Facility.  It is no longer economically feasible and there are environmental issues related to the burning or disposal of the green waste.  The City is currently in conversations with Brigham City for a possible agreement to use their green waste facility.  In the meantime, Perry residents can take their green waste to the Brigham City facility for $7 per load, or residents can utilize their garbage receptacles for green waste and get an additional garbage can if needed for the price of $10 per month.

Another option is to use the newly implemented Perry Resident Landfill Vouchers to dispose of green waste or other waste you may have.  Each household is entitled to one voucher per year, which allows free use of the Box Elder County landfill (limited to one truckload, all loads must be covered).  This program was developed to replace the City Spring cleanup.  You can access your free voucher on the city website or at:

https://app.civicreview.com/application

It takes 1-2 business days for the voucher to be approved.

We will publish any updates in regards to green waste as they become available.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you will understand the City's efforts to protect the environment and ensure responsible spending.  We also hope you will take advantage of one of the above listed options as a solution to your waste disposal needs.
