Tiny Signs of Spring

Tiny signs of spring pushing through the ground

Peeking past the dirt they never make a sound

But excitedly they grow

As warmer weather melts the snow

And bursting through the dirt

Effortlessly, they divert

‘Tward the direction of the sun

Where light and life began

Then, soon the brightest yellow

Adorns daffodils petals

And they sway in gentle breezes

As a child playing, sneezes

Down the lane and across the road

You can hear the gurgling of the toads

And Meadowlarks chirping cheerily on the hill

While the Hummingbirds flutter still

Next to Mourning Dove’s water mill

Tulips emerge to play

Their colors all in array

Reds, oranges, purples, pinks

They brighten the world and make you think!

Green is the color most we see

When Spring has sprung so prettily!

The world is full of life again

Below the valley to the tops of mountains

Smell the air, so clean and sweet

And get out those cooped up winter feet!

Walk a trail, skip a mile

The season of spring is so versatile!
