There will be a Dog Shot Clinic at Canyon View Clinic on Saturday, January 12th from 9:00 a.m.-noon.  It is time to renew licenses for the year! Dog licenses are due by January 31, 2018.

Business License Renewals are also due by January 31, 2019. Perry City now offers online renewals and we hope to transition fully to online application renewal in the future. This year you may choose to renew online or by paper. You should be receiving in the mail a renewal notice with your unique reference and pin number for renewal.  To renew online go to https://app.civicreview.com/lookup.

On October 25th the City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Box Elder County to develop a County Landfill Disposal program for Perry City residents, which will replace our City Cleanup program in the spring.  So instead of having dumpsters at the Nature Park in the spring, this program will allow Perry residents’ one free pass per household to the Box Elder County Landfill to dump a pickup truck load or small trailer. Click the link below to fill out the voucher that you will take with you to the landfill. This is good from January 1-December 31, 2019. https://app.civicreview.com/application

It's The Time of Year for SNOW! Landowners are responsible to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property accessible and cleared of debris, vegetation, and snow in order to be compliant with Perry City ordinances and reduce their personal liability.  Also as winter approaches, in order to allow for snow removal.  Vehicles and trailers are not allowed to be parked on public streets within 48 hours immediately following any snowfall.

Welcome new Police Chief!  Perry City Police Department Sgt. Scott Hancey has been named as the city’s new police chief.  Hancey will take over from current Chief Ryan Arbon on January 1, 2019.  Hancey grew up in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School in 2006.  He earned his law enforcement officer certification from Weber State in 2008, and has been employed with Perry City since 2009.  He is excited to be here and has said that he has grown to love our city and everything that it stands for.

Our wonderful hardworking mail lady Michele Sherman shared a few thoughts on the snow removal and mail. “I'm just rolling back into town and I got a text from my boss saying they were just finishing up my mail route for the day. Some of the routes are still not back. I know there was a lot of mail brought back to the post office and it will go back out tomorrow for delivery.

Here are some cute, little snow reminders:

  • If we can't pull in to your mailbox and pull away from it we are supposed to skip it. A walking path doesn't count.
  • If you've cleared it once and the plows go by and bury it again it is still the residents responsibility to clear it again.
  • It isn't safe or even feasible for us to get out at every mailbox because we can't reach it.
  • Lastly, just know that we want you to get your mail. We don't skip you because we are lazy. It is more of a hassle to have to take it back and deal with it again.

Happy Winter!
