Looking Back at Summertime…

Summertime means days are slow and the afternoon glow of the setting sun warms our faces, reflecting the fun

Backyard campouts under the stars and I can see far to the Milky Way And soon the night will turn to day and we will play!

Movies on the trampoline-- laptop screen with toes in between Blankets piled oh so high till they reach the blackened sky

Summer means sleeping late-don’t have to wake before the alarm unless, of course, you live on a farm with cows in the barn!

Vacation time! Pennies and dimes saved for today so we could stay and soak it in--letting the mem’ries win!

Road trippin’ And we’re not skippin’ these summer daze in the yellow haze as we drive on through the Redwoods-- so HUGE!

Seeing new sights, elevated heights, flying kites and walking the shores of the beachy floors where tides rush in and starfish spin

Popsicle stands and sticky hands, Come buy a treat-- something sweet and share a smile -feeling good awhile!

Then jump in a pool and get all cooled and laugh with friends who do backbends!  Or catch a frog plus a pollywog down the lane after the rain

Hop on and ride through the mountainside on an ATV—What do you see? A fox in socks across the trail or the skitter of a chipmunk’s tail

Rocky roads and bumpy grounds make for lots of grinding sounds as tracks ride over dusty mounds

And then we reach the Table Top! Park the machines and stop, stop, stop! We look at the edge of the big cliff drop!

Family time is oh so sweet with summertime it can’t be beat! Of, course we want to just repeat the fun we’ve had-- it’s so complete!
