OGDEN, UT -- Weber Pathways is excited to feature best-selling writer Pam Houston at this year's 11th annual Author Dinner. This inspiring event will be held Friday, May 2nd in The Browning Theater, Union Station.
Ms. Houston will be speaking to dinner guests about “Contents May Have Shifted: Shaping the World into Story”. She is best known for her first book, Cowboys Are My Weakness, which has been translated into nine languages, and which won the Western States Book Award, and named a New York Times Notable Book. Her stories have been selected for volumes of Best American Short Stories, The O. Henry Awards, The Pushcart Prize, and Best American Short Stories of the Century. She is the winner of the Western States Book Award, the WILLA award for contemporary fiction, and The Evil Companions Literary Award and multiple teaching awards. She is currently the Director of Creative Writing at U.C. Davis, and at writer’s conferences around the world. Pam lives on a ranch at 9,000 feet in Colorado near the headwaters of the Rio Grande.
Major themes in Houston's work include relationships between men and women, the outdoors, animals and childhood trauma.
The evening will also feature music for the Blue Sage Band and food from the Union Grille. The venue is located just steps from the Ogden FrontRunner Station.
