Special Olympics Utah and Harmons present 2014 Summer Games

SPECIAL OLYMPICS UTAH 2014 HARMONS SUMMER GAMES

INTERESTING FACTS

• This year marks the 45th annual Special Olympics Summer Games. 

• The event will take place June 6 - 7 at Herriman High School. 

• This is the third year in a row that Herriman High School and the Jordan School District will host this great event. 

• Bob and Randy Harmon of Harmons Grocery will be in attendance to open the Summer Games. 

• Harmons Grocery continues to be a proud supporter of the Summer Games and continues to work with Special Olympics Utah in making this event a success for volunteers and athletes with intellectual disabilities. 

• More than 1000 Special Olympics athletes from all over Utah will compete in 16 Olympic-type events at this year's Summer Games. 

• Participating Special Olympics athletes range in age from 9 to 90 years. 

• Every year, more than 1,000 volunteers contribute to making the Summer Games successful. 

• Two percent of Utah's population has intellectual disabilities and is eligible to participate in the Special Olympics year-round in over 51 competitions and seven statewide events, including the Summer Games.
